Brandi Lynn Vaughn, 25, the former Madison Southern High School teacher accused of twice having sexual relations with a teenager during the summer of 2015, was sentenced Friday to one year in prison.
In early November, she pleaded guilty to using an electronic device to induce a minor to engage in sexual activities. The crime is a Class D felony that can be punished by one to five years in prison.
In exchange for her guilty plea, prosecutors dropped two counts of first-degree sexual abuse; two counts of third-degree sodomy; one count each of third-degree rape and evidence tampering. Those charges also were Class D felonies.
